The drawing started from the stone. Blue Topaz sets the temperature of the piece and black rhodium follows it — perfect basal cleavage, so it is set with a light hand. The mount is cast in Black Rhodium on 18K, then filed, emeried and pre-polished before setting. The setting on SI-016 is rub-over bezel at 8.6 mm face. All 2 stones are seated individually against the reference tray rather than to a jig. Finishing is done in three passes, the last by hand, so the arrises stay sharp. Photographed from 4 positions because the back of this one is worth seeing.
Nocturne Bezel is photographed in 2 colourways — 18K base, black rhodium, black rhodium over 18K, which needs renewing every few years of daily wear. The same mount can be made in polished 18K, platinum or a matte rhodium, quoted on the metal weight of 4.4 g rather than a flat uplift. Platinum runs roughly a third above 18K on this design because it is denser and slower to work. All gold and platinum is BIS hallmarked with the ANAGARI maker's mark.
Black Rhodium on 18K — Black rhodium electroplated over 18K. Deliberately non-reflective, so the stones carry all the light.
Total carat weight is 2.60 ct. Blue Topaz is Mohs 8 and irradiated and heated for blue — perfect basal cleavage, so it is set with a light hand. Colour is matched across the run under standard light, and any stone over 0.30 ct in a diamond piece ships with an independent certificate. Colour stones carry an ANAGARI identification report; IGI or GIA certification is available at cost.
Blue Topaz — A blue topaz selected in-house for saturation and clarity, matched by eye to the metal it sits in.
Every piece is weighed and dimensioned against the approved article before it leaves the floor — 4.4 g on SI-016. Six inspection gates sit between wax and packing: wax, casting, pre-polish, setting, finish and final. Setting is checked at ten-power on all 2 stones, and nothing advances on a supervisor's word alone. Made in Jaipur under one roof, which is why a query is answered the same afternoon rather than the next month.
Nocturne Bezel was made with birthdays, birthstones and the pleasure of colour, openings, dinners and any room you intend to be remembered in and the wrist and hand of someone who wears one piece well in mind. It is not a piece that needs a reason. Sizing runs IN 5 to IN 18; resizing up to two sizes is complimentary for life.
Nocturne Bezel is one of the references we will rebuild to order. Straightforward changes — a different centre stone, a change of metal to polished 18K, carat weight up or down and a matte, satin or hammered finish in place of the polish — are specified in the customisation studio and add nothing to the lead time; booking and pricing follow once the specification is settled. Structural changes, such as taking this cocktail to a different architecture entirely, need a conversation and a new CAD; that runs six to eight weeks from approval. Private-label and OEM versions of this mount are quoted from one piece upward.
Nocturne Bezel sets blue topaz, so: do not put this piece in an ultrasonic cleaner — Blue Topaz will not survive it. Warm water, a drop of pH-neutral soap and a soft brush is the correct method. Most of the cleaning that matters happens on the reverse of the gallery. Black rhodium is a plating and will wear at the high points with daily use; renewal is complimentary. Remove before contact sport, gardening, and whenever you apply fragrance, sunscreen or hand cream.
