The House

Origin

Jaipur, and a
stubborn idea

ANAGARI began four years ago with a refusal: that fine jewellery should be sold through one flattering photograph and a sentence about heritage. Every piece here is shown from every angle it was shot from, taken apart into its components, and offered back to you in whatever metal and stone you actually want.

The work happens in Jaipur, where the colour-stone trade has run for three centuries and where you can still put a tray of emeralds on a table and choose by eye. Casting, setting, polishing and quality control are all under one roof, and the karigars at those benches have spent decades there — the house is four years old; their hands are not.

Principles

Four things we hold to

Show everything

Every angle we shot, every component, every specification. If we photographed it, you can see it.

Choose by eye

Stones are selected from a physical tray, not a grading certificate. Certificates come after.

Name the maker

Each reference is recorded against the setter and polisher. Accountability is a design feature.

Keep it forever

Complimentary cleaning, rhodium renewal and resizing for as long as the piece exists.

Milestones

A short history

The first tray

A single case of colour stones bought in Johari Bazaar, and eleven bezel rings made from them. Nine of those designs are still in the book.

The eternity circuit

The house works out how to set nineteen ovals in an unbroken ring without a visible join. SI-036 is still the reference.

Photography changes

We start shooting every piece on a motorised table. Seven references now turn a full 360° through real photographs.

The lattice cuff

Three hundred and forty-two stones, eleven weeks, two setters. The most complex object the atelier has produced.

The book, published

Ninety-seven pieces, a hundred and thirty photographs, and a configurator that specifies a commission in front of you.

Where to start
