This one began at the bench rather than on paper. Ruby sets the temperature of the piece and sterling silver follows it — chromium is what makes it red rather than pink. Lost-wax cast in 925 Sterling Silver, cleaned up by hand and pre-polished at the bench. The setting on SI-082 is rub-over and pavé at 42.0 mm width. All 1 stones are seated individually against the reference tray rather than to a jig. Finishing is done in three passes, the last by hand, so the arrises stay sharp. It passes six inspection gates between wax and pouch.
Mosaic Cuff is shown in 925 Sterling Silver — 925 sterling, the most forgiving metal to resize and the least forgiving to neglect. The same mount can be made in vermeil, 9ct, 14ct or 18K gold, quoted on the metal weight of 64.0 g rather than a flat uplift. Platinum runs roughly a third above 18K on this design because it is denser and slower to work. All gold and platinum is BIS hallmarked with the ANAGARI maker's mark.
925 Sterling Silver — 92.5% silver with copper. Finished with an anti-tarnish coat; it will still develop a patina, which most clients prefer.
Total carat weight is 0.18 ct. Ruby is Mohs 9 and heat-treated, as the trade expects — chromium is what makes it red rather than pink. Colour is matched across the run under standard light, and any stone over 0.30 ct in a diamond piece ships with an independent certificate. Colour stones carry an ANAGARI identification report; IGI or GIA certification is available at cost.
Ruby — Corundum coloured by chromium. Ours are principally Burmese and Mozambican, heat-treated only.
Weight, dimension and stone count are checked against the signed first article — 64.0 g on SI-082. Six inspection gates sit between wax and packing: wax, casting, pre-polish, setting, finish and final. Setting is checked at ten-power on all 1 stones, and nothing advances on a supervisor's word alone. Made in Jaipur under one roof, which is why a query is answered the same afternoon rather than the next month.
Mosaic Cuff was made with openings, dinners and any room you intend to be remembered in, the evenings that justify a jeweller and a wardrobe rather than an occasion in mind. It photographs well, but it was built to be looked at from a foot away. Sized at the knuckle rather than the wrist, and adjusted free within the first year.
Mosaic Cuff is one of the references we will rebuild to order. Straightforward changes — a different centre stone, a change of metal to vermeil, carat weight up or down and a matte, satin or hammered finish in place of the polish — are specified in the customisation studio and add nothing to the lead time; booking and pricing follow once the specification is settled. Structural changes, such as taking this cuff to a different architecture entirely, need a conversation and a new CAD; that runs six to eight weeks from approval. Private-label and OEM versions of this mount are quoted from one piece upward.
Mosaic Cuff sets ruby, so: ultrasonic cleaning is safe for this piece, though we would rather do it here. Between times, warm water, pH-neutral soap and a soft brush. Work from underneath; the film that kills brilliance collects behind the stone, not on it. Store with an anti-tarnish strip; sterling will grey in open air. Remove before contact sport, gardening, and whenever you apply fragrance, sunscreen or hand cream.
