This one began at the bench rather than on paper. Ruby at this size wants a band treatment — chromium is what makes it red rather than pink. In this form, a band has nowhere to hide a bad join. Lost-wax cast in 18K Yellow Gold, cleaned up by hand and pre-polished at the bench. The setting on SI-028 is rub-over bezel at 4.0 mm width. All 1 stones are seated individually against the reference tray rather than to a jig. The last polish is deliberately slow, because speed rounds an edge that took an hour to cut. It passes six inspection gates between wax and pouch.
Ruby Whisper Band is shown in 18K Yellow Gold — 18K, 75% fine gold, warm, and the traditional choice for yellow and green stones. The same mount can be made in white gold, rose gold, platinum or 950 palladium, quoted on the metal weight of 4.4 g rather than a flat uplift. Platinum runs roughly a third above 18K on this design because it is denser and slower to work. All gold and platinum is BIS hallmarked with the ANAGARI maker's mark.
18K Yellow Gold — 75% fine gold alloyed with silver and copper for a warm, slightly deep yellow. Struck with the BIS hallmark and the house mark.
Total carat weight is 0.12 ct. Ruby is Mohs 9 and heat-treated, as the trade expects — chromium is what makes it red rather than pink. Colour is matched across the run under standard light, and any stone over 0.30 ct in a diamond piece ships with an independent certificate. Colour stones carry an ANAGARI identification report; IGI or GIA certification is available at cost.
Ruby — Corundum coloured by chromium. Ours are principally Burmese and Mozambican, heat-treated only.
Weight, dimension and stone count are checked against the signed first article — 4.4 g on SI-028. Six inspection gates sit between wax and packing: wax, casting, pre-polish, setting, finish and final. Setting is checked at ten-power on all 1 stones, and nothing advances on a supervisor's word alone. Made in Jaipur under one roof, which is why a query is answered the same afternoon rather than the next month.
Ruby Whisper Band was made with ordinary Tuesdays, which is the hardest test a piece faces, the wrist and hand of someone who wears one piece well and a wardrobe rather than an occasion in mind. It photographs well, but it was built to be looked at from a foot away. Sizing runs IN 5 to IN 18; resizing up to two sizes is complimentary for life.
Ruby Whisper Band is one of the references we will rebuild to order. Straightforward changes — a different centre stone, a change of metal to white gold, carat weight up or down and a matte, satin or hammered finish in place of the polish — are specified in the customisation studio and add nothing to the lead time; booking and pricing follow once the specification is settled. Structural changes, such as taking this band to a different architecture entirely, need a conversation and a new CAD; that runs six to eight weeks from approval. Private-label and OEM versions of this mount are quoted from one piece upward.
Ruby Whisper Band sets ruby, so: ultrasonic cleaning is safe for this piece, though we would rather do it here. Between times, warm water, pH-neutral soap and a soft brush. Most of the cleaning that matters happens on the reverse of the gallery. Store separately and flat — a shared pouch is a slow-motion accident. Remove before contact sport, gardening, and whenever you apply fragrance, sunscreen or hand cream.
