Cast in 18K White Gold by lost wax, then filed and pre-polished before a stone goes near it. The setting on SI-061 is rub-over bezel, post and butterfly at 9.4 mm. All 2 stones are seated individually against the reference tray rather than to a jig. Final polish runs on a bristle wheel at low speed to keep the edges crisp. It passes six inspection gates between wax and pouch.
Black Diamond Studs is shown in 18K White Gold — 18K, 75% fine gold, rhodium-plated over a white alloy, renewed free for life. The same mount can be made in yellow gold, rose gold or 950 platinum, quoted on the metal weight of 3.8 g rather than a flat uplift. Platinum runs roughly a third above 18K on this design because it is denser and slower to work. All gold and platinum is BIS hallmarked with the ANAGARI maker's mark.
18K White Gold — 75% fine gold alloyed with palladium, then rhodium plated for whiteness. Re-plating is complimentary for life.
Total carat weight is 6.80 ct. Black Diamond is Mohs 10 and treated to even the colour — opaque from graphite inclusions rather than absorption. Colour is matched across the run under standard light, and any stone over 0.30 ct in a diamond piece ships with an independent certificate. Colour stones carry an ANAGARI identification report; IGI or GIA certification is available at cost.
Black Diamond — Natural carbonado, opaque from dense graphite inclusions. Cut with the same 57-facet geometry as a white brilliant.
Weight, dimension and stone count are checked against the signed first article — 3.8 g on SI-061. Six inspection gates sit between wax and packing: wax, casting, pre-polish, setting, finish and final. Setting is checked at ten-power on all 2 stones, and nothing advances on a supervisor's word alone. Made in Jaipur under one roof, which is why a query is answered the same afternoon rather than the next month.
Black Diamond Studs was made with the occasions that have historically called for white light, the evenings that justify a jeweller and the wrist and hand of someone who wears one piece well in mind. Worn daily it will show its finish honestly, which is the intention. Posts are 18K with butterfly backs as standard; screw backs and clip fittings are available at no extra cost.
