Customise this pieceReference SI-011 is a stud earring, made in Black Rhodium on 18K, set with 2 stones and built around worn daily and rarely taken off. It measures 7.8 mm, and weighs 3.0 g gross. It sits in the everyday fine part of the book, and is made to your specification — price and booking on request, once we understand what you want changed.
This one began at the bench rather than on paper. The black rhodium was chosen against blue zircon rather than the other way round — the highest dispersion of any stone we set apart from diamond. In this form, a stud is judged on how flat it sits. Blue zircon has more fire than diamond and almost nobody knows it. Set in black rhodium so you notice.

Lost-wax cast in Black Rhodium on 18K, cleaned up by hand and pre-polished at the bench. The setting on SI-011 is rub-over bezel, post and butterfly at 7.8 mm. All 2 stones are seated individually against the reference tray rather than to a jig. Final polish runs on a bristle wheel at low speed to keep the edges crisp. It passes six inspection gates between wax and pouch.
Zircon Noir Studs is shown in Black Rhodium on 18K — 18K base, black rhodium, black rhodium over 18K, which needs renewing every few years of daily wear. The same mount can be made in polished 18K, platinum or a matte rhodium, quoted on the metal weight of 3.0 g rather than a flat uplift. Platinum runs roughly a third above 18K on this design because it is denser and slower to work. All gold and platinum is BIS hallmarked with the ANAGARI maker's mark.
Black Rhodium on 18K — Black rhodium electroplated over 18K. Deliberately non-reflective, so the stones carry all the light.
Total carat weight is 4.00 ct. Blue Zircon is Mohs 7.5 and heat-treated — the highest dispersion of any stone we set apart from diamond. Colour is matched across the run under standard light, and any stone over 0.30 ct in a diamond piece ships with an independent certificate. Colour stones carry an ANAGARI identification report; IGI or GIA certification is available at cost.
Blue Zircon — A blue zircon selected in-house for saturation and clarity, matched by eye to the metal it sits in.
Every piece is weighed and dimensioned against the approved article before it leaves the floor — 3.0 g on SI-011. Six inspection gates sit between wax and packing: wax, casting, pre-polish, setting, finish and final. Setting is checked at ten-power on all 2 stones, and nothing advances on a supervisor's word alone. Made in Jaipur under one roof, which is why a query is answered the same afternoon rather than the next month.
Zircon Noir Studs was made with birthdays, birthstones and the pleasure of colour, ordinary Tuesdays, which is the hardest test a piece faces and the wrist and hand of someone who wears one piece well in mind. It is not a piece that needs a reason. Posts are 18K with butterfly backs as standard; screw backs and clip fittings are available at no extra cost.
Zircon Noir Studs is one of the references we will rebuild to order. Straightforward changes — a different centre stone, a change of metal to polished 18K, carat weight up or down and a matte, satin or hammered finish in place of the polish — are specified in the customisation studio and add nothing to the lead time; booking and pricing follow once the specification is settled. Structural changes, such as taking this stud to a different architecture entirely, need a conversation and a new CAD; that runs six to eight weeks from approval. Private-label and OEM versions of this mount are quoted from one piece upward.
Zircon Noir Studs sets blue zircon, so: ultrasonic cleaning is safe for this piece, though we would rather do it here. Between times, warm water, pH-neutral soap and a soft brush. Most of the cleaning that matters happens on the reverse of the gallery. Black rhodium is a plating and will wear at the high points with daily use; renewal is complimentary. Remove before contact sport, gardening, and whenever you apply fragrance, sunscreen or hand cream.
